Student-athletes reach out to the community

Binghamton athletes participate in America East’s STARS Sportsmanship Initiative

Twenty student-athletes held a sportsmanship seminar for middle-school students in accordance with the America East Conference STARS (Student-athletes Advancing Respect Through Sports) initiative, in conjunction with the Student-Athlete Success Center and College for Every Student (CFES). CFES is a non-profit mentoring program designed to help raise the academic performance and educational aspirations of underserved youth so that they can prepare for, gain access to and succeed in college.

Student-athletes participate in service day

Binghamton’s athletes also held a CFES Service Day in May, when they joined with middle school students for spring cleaning and yard work at Danielle House, a charitable, non-profit organization that provides shelter and emotional support for families visiting seriously ill patients in area hospitals.
