University supporters

Dick’s Sporting Goods Open

Philanthropists Tim and Kim Myers hosted Tony Kornheiser ’70 and President Harvey Stenger at the Dick’s Sporting Goods Open in August, providing them with the opportunity to meet several local community leaders. Kornheiser is co-host of ESPN’s sports opinion show “Pardon the Interruption.”

Other University support

Dr. Orville Nielsen and his wife, Emily, of Binghamton, were devoted supporters of the University who demonstrated their love of the opera, ballet and symphony by establishing scholarships in music and theatre and in support of the Decker School of Nursing. The Nielsens died at different points earlier this year, but their generosity lives on — their estate provided a $1 million gift and their family home.
