University Union Renovations
Progress continues on the University Union renovations. In the new food service area, finishing work is underway on a number of food stations. Painting is also taking place throughout the area. The foundation for the rotunda addition is underway with steel to follow in the next couple of months. There is also work on the facade of the lounge addition.
The project focusing on the north portion of the Union is also moving ahead. The foundation for the atrium is being constructed, structural framing, external sheathing and roof work is progressing, and mechanical equipment is being installed.
The renovated space in the north area of the University Union will house several key student services such as the Career Development Center, the Center for Civic Engagement, the Tutoring Center, the Educational Opportunity Program and TRiO.
The expanded food service area, where the Susquehanna Room and Food Court were previously located, will be called The Marketplace, an open marketplace-type venue with a variety of food options.
