The Decker Student Health Services Center implements Medicat

Part of the recent renovation of the Decker Student Health Services Center (DSHSC) has included the implementation of an electronic medical records system, Medicat. The system, which has been deployed in modules over the past 2 years, has provided many features and efficiencies, benefitting both students and staff. Features include an electronic student chart (the electronic medical record), a practice management system, including flexible appointment scheduling, and a management reporting system.

Through automated processes, students can be contacted through a secure messaging system. Students are able to “check themselves in” for appointments using desktop computers upon their arrival at the health service. My Health, the online student portal, was launched in spring 2013, allowing for secure messaging to and from the health service; online scheduling of appointments; and completion of pre-visit intake forms, online submission of health histories and immunization information, and other health-related resources.

The generosity and support of the Decker Foundation in funding the recent renovation of the DSHSC and implementation of Medicat is greatly appreciated.
