Children’s trade book series

It's none of your business cover look
Peter Francis
One of three storybook covers in the series.

S. G. Grant, dean of the Graduate School of Education, together with Kathy Swan and Emma Thacker of the University of Kentucky, wrote a storybook series to help teachers and students engage in age-appropriate but more ambitious instruction around important social constructs such as compromise, property rights and race.

The “Thinking Like a Citizen” storybook series is intended to introduce key concepts in civics, economics, geography and history to early elementary-age (K-grade 2) students. With titles like Whose Swing Set Is It, Anyway?; It’s None of Your Business! and What Color Am I?, the book series uses real-life situations to teach children how to use disciplinary knowledge to think through complex social issues.
