Hotel Digman a Commencement Weekend success

There were no vacancies when Residential Like took advantage of some open rooms in Digman Hall to house Commencement Weekend visitors. For $75 per night for a double with single rooms and a private bath, or $150 per night for a four-person flat of four single rooms or a five-person flat of two doubles and a single, more than 40 reservations were filled for visitors who had a convenient and hospitable place to stay when coming to see their student graduate.

Amenities included access to the Recreation Center, Wi-Fi, reserved parking and free continental breakfast complements of Binghamton University Dining by Sodexo.

Family members were sent an online survey regarding their experience with accommodations, meals, parking and value, and according to Suzanne Howell, director of Residential Life, the feedback was positive. “We received very positive feedback from parents and students, particularly regarding value, experience and customer service,” she said. “All survey respondents said they would recommend on-campus Commencement housing for family and friends of graduating seniors to others in the future.”

Similar accommodations may be offered again in the future when the academic calendar provides enough time to ready the rooms for guests, said Howell.
