Orientation

Orientation for students who will be entering Binghamton University in the fall is well under way. This year, the number of sessions for transfer students was upped from three to four. The one-day program for transfers is designed specifically for students who have already taken college-level courses at community colleges or other schools.

Nearly 850 transfer students were registered for the sessions, which were held on June 18, 20, 24 and 26, and included academic advising presentations by school, pre-professional program meetings, faculty advising and schedule building, and course registration. There were separate sessions for parents and families on financial aid, how to support students in being successful, and safety and wellness issues.

The University is again paying particular attention to programs for parents and students to make them aware of the extensive array of resources available on campus for student safety.
