Even Baxter was on hand to help as students and staff worked to make Move-in Day go as smoothly as possible for incoming students.

On Thursday, Aug. 27, we welcomed 3,400 new freshmen and transfers to Binghamton University, with many parents commenting on how smooth check-in was. This year, traffic patterns were improved over past years to accommodate the increased number of students moving onto campus. Newing residents were sent directly to their community, as were Mountainview and Hinman residents to theirs, easing some potential areas of congestion. In addition, parking lot M was reserved for parents and families, more shuttles were in service and electric gem cars were used to take parents and family member to their cars.

Move-In Day is a campus-wide effort, coordinated by the Division of Student Affairs. Planning begins well in advance and evaluation follows, helping the University improve its process each year.
