Leadership program graduates first cohorts
The University Center for Training and Development partnered with the Center for Leadership Studies to develop the Leadership Development Program. The program blends interactive leadership training sessions with online modules as well as one-to-one mentoring opportunities for participating faculty and staff.
Ten core leadership competencies provide the program’s framework:
• Conflict management/problem solving
• Valuing diversity
• Building relationships
• Organization awareness/risk management
• Team building
• Customer service
• Technical skills
The online modules are specific to Binghamton University and include ones on performance/evaluation programs, tenure and sabbaticals, and financial/budget management.
Two cohorts of 20 people have successfully completed the program and graduated in December. Nominations for the spring sessions are under way.
