New vice president for advancement is an alumnus
Jim Broschart, MBA ’92, was named vice president for advancement, effective July 1. The announcement, made May 20, followed a national search that began in the fall. Members of the campus community welcomed Broschart at a reception June 13, in the Anderson Center Reception Room.
Rebecca Benner served as interim vice president for advancement during the search period. In this role, she supervised advancement staff and worked closely with deans and directors to help them reach their advancement goals. Advancement achievements have included a banner year for the Binghamton Fund (the University’s annual giving program), launch of the Student Philanthropy Committee and success of the Senior Challenge fundraising initiative. Before serving in her interim position, Benner was previously senior executive director of advancement operations.
