Greater Binghamton Scholastic Challenge
The Greater Binghamton Scholastic Challenge (GBSC) allows students in grades nine through 12 to develop ideas and businesses that impact
the community. Students form teams, write comprehensive business plans and then present
their ideas at the final competition. The winning team receives scholarship money
to start its business or use for college.
The New York State Invention Convention is a statewide invention education program for public and private school students.
The goal is to stimulate the development of students' creativity and imaginations,
thereby building a new generation of American inventors. Regional competitions are
held in the Capital District, Binghamton, Syracuse, Rochester and Buffalo areas.
Binghamton University collaborates with individuals and companies that offer technical
expertise to work with student teams that have specific challenges. If you are interested
in working with a mentor or becoming a mentor, contact Ken McLeod.
