Hinman Room Styles & Measurements

Each hall houses approximately 200 students. There is one professional Resident Director and six Resident Assistants who also live in the building. Staff is available to assist all residents with their needs by providing social and educational events in the hall, academic advising assistance, and connecting students to the resources afforded to them here at Binghamton University. Each hall also has a student run hall government, which also coordinates programs and events within the residence.

Living the Suite Life

Hinman College consists of four- and six-person suites. A suite is rather similar to an apartment, with two or three bedrooms, a lounge, and a bathroom with a stall shower.
The two-bedroom suites house four students, and the three-bedroom suites house six students, all in double rooms. In thirty of the suites throughout Hinman, one of the bedrooms is occupied by the resident assistant as a single. These suites are typically reserved for freshmen to aid in fostering a welcoming connection and ease their transition. All floors in Hinman are co-ed, with male and female suites located on each corridor.

Mail Services

There is a campus mail service available to students in the Union, underneath the Tillman Lobby. Students can send small mail and packages via this mail service. When sending or receiving mail, be sure to include the following information:

Your Name
BU Box # _______ (Your assigned box number you received with your building assignment in August/January)
Binghamton University
P.O. Box 6020
Binghamton, NY 13902-6009

Please do not write your hall name or room number when addressing mail. This will only delay delivery by several days. Please note that you may be sharing your mailbox with another student, so do not be alarmed if you find another person's mail. Your mailbox is located in the University Union. A notification e-mail will be sent to your campus e-mail account if you receive a package. To retrieve your package, please bring your University ID card to the Main Post Office on campus to pick up your package.
