Resident Assistants possess strong leadership skills and a commitment to build quality relationships in not only their residential community, but all across the Binghamton University campus.
RAs play an integral part in the overall operation of the residence halls. Primarily, the RA is concerned with the growth and development of each individual on his/her floor and the building community as a whole. Additionally, RAs are continually striving to enhance the quality of life for those residents. This includes planning programs, promoting diversity, assisting with personal and professional growth, and most importantly enjoying their time at Binghamton University. RA Job Description
Responsibilities of a Resident Assistant will vary in each area based on the differing needs of each community. RAs are expected to demonstrate professionalism, commitment to the goals and values of Binghamton University, initiative, dependability, and a positive attitude. The RA reports to Residence Directors or Community Director in their area. Specifically, the RA is responsible for the following listed in the RA Performance Program.
We are holding RA selection for fall 2017. Students must have lived at least one year in a residence hall to qualify. If interested, students must attend one mandatory information session November 6 or 9 at 8 p.m. in Old Union Hall. Sessions begin promptly at 8:00 p.m., bring Binghamton University ID for entrance.
