Funding Opportunities Open to Non-U.S. Citizens
Funding to support study in the United States can come various sources, e.g. the American college or university or a private foundation. The information presented here is on funding sources external to Binghamton University. In most cases these opportunities are not exclusively for non-US citizens, but rather are open to both US citizens and non-citizens.
To start, learn more about the American higher education system and funding your education (some sites are listed below). There may be financial aid resources available through your home country government. The Department/Ministry of Education in your home country or the embassy of your home country in Washington, D.C. should be able to provide you with information.
Following are some websites that contain general background on funding and others that are specific opportunities. The list is certainly not exhaustive, but is a good place to start.
Another excellent source of information is an extensive list of undergraduate and graduate opportunities that accept applications from international students compiled by Doug Cutchins at Grinnell College. Mr. Cutchins has graciously provided the link to his site that includes the scholarship list and links to other resources. http://www.grinnell.edu/offices/SocialCommitment/awards/internationalstudentopps/.
