"Attending the Ph.D. program in Systems Science is the best decision I made in my life. I appreciated the help and guidance of my advisor and committee members, which helped me explore my potential and build a solid foundation for my future. During this time, I even had opportunity to represent the university overseas as recipient of an Ambassador Award. Working as a graduate research associate in the Watson Institute for System Excellence (WISE) program gave me great opportunities to expand and apply my knowledge to solve various real problems in industrial practices."

"Systems Science allowed me to transition my theoretical math background and passion for patterns from my Harpur undergraduate degree into something applied. The program allowed flexibility for me to follow my interests including complex systems and complete a graduate certificate in Evolutionary Studies, one reoccurring pattern across many systems that I fell in love with.

My research was guided and directed but left me significant space for me and my lab mates to steer our own course. My research team was interdisciplinary and I had the opportunity to work with Systems Science and Industrial Engineering, School of Management, and Harpur faculty and graduate students."

"I currently work at UHS as a decision support analyst.  The MS/ Health Systems concentration helped prepare me for my career by teaching me the analytical skills I needed for the healthcare realm.  The support, advisement and demands of the faculty helped prepare me for my career by teaching me to have an eye for detail, work ethic and preparedness.  The healthcare courses provided adequate exposure to the healthcare system.  The opportunity to work in the healthcare field during my research internship was very valuable in preparing me for my present position."
