At Binghamton, there are hundreds of ways to feed your inner Bearcat.
Let’s say your sport is volleyball. First, there’s the women’s NCAA Division I varsity squad (2005 America East Champions). Then there are the highly competitive men’s and women’s club volleyball teams. Then there are three separate intramural volleyball programs: men’s competitive, coed competitive and coed recreational. Plus there’s a beach volleyball court outside your residence hall!
At Binghamton, our philosophy is that everyone is an athlete. You just need to find your game. That’s why we offer everything from traditional sports like basketball, soccer and softball to student favorites like coed dodgeball and kickball; Ultimate Frisbee; indoor and outdoor flag football; badminton; fencing and bowling.
FitSpace, our fitness facility, is stocked with top-of-the-line cardiovascular, free-weight and circuit equipment to help you look and feel your best. Sign up for one of our 45 group classes each week, including PiYo (Pilates/yoga), four kinds of kickboxing, spinning and body toning — or grab a session with one of our certified personal trainers.
Let our Outdoor Pursuits program show you why the Binghamton metropolitan area was named one of America’s Top Ten “Best Green Places.” Take for-credit classes in fly fishing, backpacking or whitewater kayaking. Or chose from dozens of day or weekend trips to regional ski areas, rivers, climbing walls and state parks. We also rent camping and outdoor sports equipment at huge student discounts ($12 a day for skis, boots and poles!).
