STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES AT BINGHAMTON UNIVERSITYBinghamton University's Student Support Services program is a federally funded program designed to improve the retention and graduation rates of low-income, first-generation or disabled college students. Our mission is to help qualified students achieve academic success and personal growth. SSS will help students achieve their goals and make the most of their college experience.
SSS students receive support services including academic, career, and personal counseling; tutoring and assistance in obtaining financial aid. We also provide workshops and seminars on a variety of topics including computer literacy, study skills, time management and career exploration. In addition, SSS students are given the opportunity to attend cultural enrichment events.
SSS SUMMER PROGRAM (S4P)
New Binghamton University students who have been invited to join Student Support Services are eligible to attend the SSS Summer Program (S4P). S4P is an opportunity for us to welcome you to SSS and to help you prepare for college at Binghamton University. S4P runs for five weeks in conjunction with the Summer II session classes at BU. Participants spend the first week on campus, followed by four weeks of on-line interaction. This is an opportunity that Binghamton University only extends to SSS Students and it will help you transition from high school to college.
