Ernest F. Hollings Undergraduate Scholarship Program
Deadline: January 31, 2014
Sponsored by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) the program is designed to increase undergraduate training in oceanic and atmospheric science, research, technology, and education and to recruit and prepare students for careers with NOAA and other natural resource and science government agencies, and to prepare students for careers as educators in oceanic and atmospheric science. Recipients receive up to $8,000/academic year for two years and $650/week for a ten-week summer internship. Application is made in the sophomore year; only US citizens with a GPA of 3.0 can apply.

Merit-based scholarships to students planning careers related to the environment. They support future leaders across a spectrum of fields including, policy, engineering, science, education, urban planning and renewal, business, health, justice, and economics. Benefits include a $5,000 scholarship and a four-day orientation in Arizona. Academics are important as well as community service and evidence of leadership. Application is made in the sophomore or junior year; applicant must be a US citizen or permanent resident with a 3.0 GPA. NOTE: University nomination is required for the Udall.

2014 Summer Scholars & Artists Program

The Binghamton University Undergraduate Research Center offers the Summer Scholars and Artists Program to support undergraduates in special research, scholarship or creative activities during summer 2014. Each fellowship consists of a $3,000 student award and $1,000 to the faculty mentor.

Undergraduate Conference Travel Fund
Deadline: March 1, 2014
The Undergraduate Research Center (URC) supports faculty-mentored undergraduate research, scholarship and creative activity. We encourage undergraduates to pursue scholarly and creative projects and to present their results at regional and national professional meetings or conferences. Support is available from the URC to help undergraduate students defray the cost of participating in a professional meeting or conference.
