UNDERGRADUATE CONFERENCE TRAVEL FUND
The Undergraduate Research Center (URC) supports faculty-mentored undergraduate research, scholarship and creative activity. We encourage undergraduates to pursue scholarly and creative projects and to present their results at regional and national professional meetings or conferences.
Support is available from the URC to help undergraduate students defray the cost of participating in a professional meeting or conference.
Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered:
• Must be a full-time undergraduate student in good academic standing. Please note that you are required to return as a Binghamton University student for a minimum of one semester after conference/meeting attendance
• Must be presenting your research as first or second author (first or second named author on the research abstract) at a professional conference or meeting
• Must be attending the conference or meeting during the semester in which you apply
The research may be presented as a paper or poster; or, if the student is in the arts, as a performance, film screening, or exhibition of a work or group of works.
Funds are limited; the maximum award is $300. Items that are reimbursed include conference registration, travel, lodging, and poster printing. Please note that costs are reimbursed after the conference has concluded.
If you are unable to provide documentation of costs (original receipts), you will not be eligible for reimbursement.
Students are encouraged to apply for travel grants offered by the conference sponsor in addition to this opportunity if available.
Fall Semester: November 1
Spring Semester: March 1
Students may apply for only one Undergraduate Conference Travel grant per year. The application should be submitted before the conference occurs, but the URC will consider applications submitted after the conference has concluded. Please note that the faculty mentor must complete a portion of the application in order for the application to be considered complete.
