About the Course

Lean Six Sigma is a process improvement methodology that aims to increase value by improving quality, speed, client satisfaction while reducing costs. It achieves this by merging tools and principles from both Lean and Six Sigma and has been widely adopted in manufacturing and services organizations. 

Six Sigma is a data driven process improvement methodology used to achieve stable and predictable process results, reducing process variation and defects. Essentially it seeks to identify and eliminate causes of error, defects or failures in a business process by focusing on critical outputs.

Lean is a process improvement-methodology used to enable the delivery of products and services better, faster and at a lower cost.     

This one-day course provides an overview of both Six Sigma and Lean and how their respective tools and methods both individually and when integrated, enable organizations to yield improved process quality, lowered operational costs and increased efficiency.  Topics include: implementation approaches and barriers, methods (5S, kaizen, standardization techniques, value stream mapping), lessons learned, and metrics and scorecards.  This course helps leaders and supervisors see how Lean Six Sigma can be applied to their  organization to reduce waste, save time, increase efficiency/throughput.

This course is ideal for members of the organization's leadership team including CEO's, presidents, vice-presidents, managers, supervisors and board members from industry, non-profit and government agencies who would like an overview of Lean Six Sigma is and how it can be implemented within their organization.
