Ayae Uwabo

Background

Ayae Uwabo received her BA in Political Science from Keio University in Japan and her MA in Japanese Linguistics from University of Wisconsin-Madison. She has also studied Communication Studies at University of Minnesota, Twin Cities-where she found her passion for teaching Japanese as a second/foreign language while teaching Japanese as a language tutor. She taught Japanese at University of Wisconsin-Madison as a teaching assistant before joining Binghamton University. In addition to her experience as a teaching assistant, she has exercised her leadership in working as an instructor of Japanese at Kanagawa University and Education First. Her teaching focuses on inclusivity and intercultural understanding where students are encouraged to express themselves, with the goal of creating an environment in which students can share their thoughts and findings safely and become more motivated.
