This is how my story at Binghamton goes…

I came to Binghamton University in 2009, as a freshman from Mumbai, India, with three huge suitcases and not knowing what to expect.

I remember being so excited when I received an acceptance letter that I completely forgot to locate Binghamton on the map, so when I first traveled Binghamton, I thought it was a suburb to New York City until I reached my actual destination.

I chose Binghamton because it made me feel wanted and had value for my money. I'm so glad I chose Binghamton as my home away from home, because it has taught me how to believe in myself and has given me an identity. Binghamton and its people have indeed made me feel special and loved.

My journey here has been phenomenal — from not knowing what I wanted to do in life, to living my version of the American Dream.

I received more than just an education. Binghamton has given me a place that I now call home. It made this city girl fall in love with nature; it has given me undying friendships from all around the world; it made me fall in love with the United States of America and taught me how to live life to the fullest. It is now an emotion — a place that will forever be in my heart.

I’d like to share a piece of advice with you: Listen to your inner voice. If you believe you can do it, YOU CAN DO IT! Be a go-getter, push yourself and get behind your dreams.
