JUNE 2017

Regional chapter spotlight

By Steve Seepersaud

Chicago Chapter event

To celebrate the start of what should be another lovely summer in Chicago, our alumni got together June 8 for a gathering at Boleo Rooftop Bar. It's located at the Kimpton Hotel in the Loop, and considered one of the city's coolest venues. About a dozen alumni had an opportunity to reconnect, meet some new people, and discuss plans for future alumni programming in the region.

"Our chapter is small, but it's off to a great start," said Francesca Blecker Bullerman '04, chapter leader. At our happy hour, alumni ranged from the class of 1983 to the class of 2014, and it was great to hear them share college stories. We're brainstorming ideas for our next event, so stay tuned!" Connect with the Chicago Chapter on Facebook.

The growth of the Long Island contingent of the Alumni Association's Metro New York Chapter was very evident at the June 13 gathering held at the Woodbury Country Club, as nearly 100 alumni attended. Guests enjoyed seeing familiar faces, meeting new people and hearing the latest campus updates. The ice cream bar capped off an ample pasta buffet and provided a cool treat on an early summer day that approached 100 degrees.

"I want to encourage people to come to our events, join our Long Island committee, to share ideas and help us make things happen. Whatever we plan, the University is here to support us," said Scott Feuer '90, Alumni Association treasurer and an active member of the chapter's Long Island committee.
