The world-renowned Russian National Ballet returns to the Anderson Center to present the classic romantic ballet, Giselle. The Russian National Ballet was founded in Moscow during the transitional period of Perestroika in the late 1980s, when the great dancers and choreographers of the Soviet Union were exercising their newfound creative freedom by starting new companies that merged the traditions of classical Russian ballet with modern dance developments from around the world.
