Visual Resources Center

The Visual Resources Center (VRC) provides digital image, metadata, and digital project support for faculty and students. The Visual Resources Center maintains a continually expanding online collection of visual media representing the teaching and research strengths of Binghamton faculty, students, and programs in the Arts and Humanities. Faculty, students, and staff have access to our local collections through Artstor, a digital image database which includes millions of high-quality images for education and research across disciplines from a wide variety of contributors around the world, as well as tools to view, present, and manage images.

VRC Services

  • Train users to navigate Artstor

  • Create images on demand, via scanning (order form)

  • Assist instructors with developing digital imaging projects, employing best practices for organizing and storing images, including copyright, and using image editing software

  • Assist faculty who want to convert personal slide and print collections to digital format
