The last time I ran into Neil Harris on campus, I asked him what he was up to, to which he responded: "Making connections." Neil believes that his opportunity to learn goes far beyond the realms of the classrooms here at Binghamton University. Through community involvement, fundraising and relationship-building, Neil has certainly left his mark on Binghamton -- but he's not quite done leaving his mark on the world.

For nearly seventeen years, Binghamton students have been filled with Bearcat pride. Today students can attend basketball games with a guarantee of seeing Baxter and the BU Zoo. However, if you attended a game prior to 2000, you would have had a very different experience. From a donkey with a tendency to bite students to a chicken costume that stole the show, Binghamton’s quirky mascot history will probably surprise you.

If you know Binghamton, then you know two consecutive snow days is unheard of. Well, that is exactly what happened when Stella decided to pass by downstate and make a B-Line towards Binghamton, which then became the epicenter of the storm. The fact that you survived the most snow ever in Binghamton for a 24-hour period (31.1") is a pretty big deal.
I, for one, have more #BingPride than ever after seeing how we weathered the storm. Here are just a few of the things I think we collectively learned from this experience.
