When the weather brought blankets of snow to campus, Binghamton University President Harvey Stenger, in the spirit of the season, decided to hold a snow sculpture contest, promising prizes and awards to the coolest creations.

After a great response from our students, it's time to announce the winners of Binghamton University's 2016 Snow Sculpture Contest! The competition was rough and the stakes were high, but only a few could become (drumroll) ... Binghamton's Next Top Snowman. Here are the winners and their respective categories.

A Day in the Life of Jesse Cole: A Neuroscience Major with a Love for Jazz

Posted by Melissa Wickes on November 28, 2016

When Jesse Cole came to Binghamton, he discovered that his favorite part of his major, biology, was the nervous system. Choosing neuroscience as his new major was a no-brainer (pun intended). Through internships, research and undergraduate courses, Jesse has learned to love research, but without losing interest in music, being a tour guide and everything else he is involved in on campus.

A Day in the Life of Tremayne Stewart: An Amazingly Accomplished Master’s Student

Posted by Junior Allie Young on November 9, 2016

It's rare to meet a student who has accomplished just one of the many feats that Tremayne Stewart has. While his academic career as a computer engineering student is certainly impressive, what strikes me most about Tremayne is his humble disposition and ability to connect with anyone. From building robots to making music, he puts his soul into everything he does. But in his eyes, he hasn't even scraped the surface of what he wants to do.
