10 Events You Must Attend During Homecoming Weekend 2016

Homecoming 2016 is packed with events that showcase our amazing students, alumni and new facilities. From soccer games to concerts, there is something for every Bearcat to get excited about. Check out this list of Homecoming Weekend events you don't want to miss!

1. Tailgate

It wouldn't be Binghamton University Homecoming without our famous Tailgate! Swing by the Events Center from 3-6 p.m. Saturday for the "main event" of the weekend. Great food, live music and your fellow Bearcats -- what could be better?

2. The Black Student Union (BSU) Fashion Show

Come to the Mandela Room in the University Union at 7:30 p.m. Friday as hundreds of students and alumni join together to show the latest fashion and raise money for the BSU's Youth Program. Students participate as models, dancers, speakers and musicians in this evening of artistic collaboration.

3. 5K Run/Walk

Warm up on this cool Saturday morning with our Homecoming 5k run/walk around campus, starting at 9:30 a.m. Want some great Bearcat merch? Come ready to show off your Binghamton pride. The runner or group with the most Binghamton University spirit will win some awesome prizes that you don't want to miss!

4. Dance Performance from the Bill T Jones/Arnie Zane Company

At 7:30 p.m. Saturday, the dance company founded by world-renowned dancer and choreographer Bill T. Jones will take the stage in the Anderson Center for the first time. Come see the amazing work of this Binghamton alumnus in action in this incredible performance.

5. Fireside Chat with President Stenger

It's not every day you get to hang out with the President! Come to the Alumni Center Lounge to chat with Harvey Stenger about changes on our campus with our Road Map to success.

6. TIER Talks

Stop by Watters Theater at 1:30 p.m. Saturday to hear a panel of experts and alumni discuss the complexity of the U.S. political system. This engaging conversation aims to answer a question many of us have: "Where do we go from here?"

7. LGBTQ Center Open House

Be a part of history as Binghamton's new LGBTQ Center hosts its premier open house. Come by LSG 549 from noon-2 p.m. Saturday to learn about how the programs aim to aid LGBTQ staff, students, and alumni.

8. Men's Soccer Game

Come rally for our men's soccer team as they take on University at Buffalo! Make your way over to the Bearcat Sports Complex after the tailgate for this homecoming tradition.

9. Bing Brews and Bands

For the first time ever, BingPop and Binghamton have come together to organize an incredible Homecoming event. Come explore what's new downtown and listen to live music at your favorite restaurants. The event begins at 9 p.m. Saturday and goes until the dancing stops!

10. WHRW 50th Anniversary Celebration

Binghamton's favorite free-format radio station is celebrating its 50th anniversary during Homecoming. Swing by the Mandela Room in the University Union at Saturday night for great food and music from our very own DJs.
