Here at Binghamton, we have a lot of ground to cover-- literally! With over 900 acres in Bearcat Country, there are so many photogenic pictures to capture! Here are a few of our favorites.
Did you know that this statue of our beloved mascot weighs over 1,000 pounds? Our mascot Baxter, who can be found at basketball games and Open House, has won SUNY's Mascot Madness twice! We are always proud to show our school spirit by cheering at the BU Zoo, posing for a picture and wearing our signature color, Pantone 342 on Green Day Friday!
This is one of the places you'll pass frequently on your way to class and we still aren’t sure how the water doesn’t freeze during the winter. The Spine is home to fun events like Shindig at the Fountain in August and Spring Fling in May, where you'll get to eat lots of fried dough and jam out to some great music selected by students, through a survey each year. Our concerts have included Walk the Moon, T-Pain and Mac Miller.
Outside the 15-floor tower of Bartle Library in the center of campus, you'll find one of the most unique pieces of architecture here. The Pegasus Statue is the official statue of Binghamton University and one of the best places to meet up with friends or find a visiting puppy to post on your Snapchat Story. When the weather is warm enough, you’ll watch a game of catch being played nearby!
It's worth the climb up to Mountainview College to check out a panoramic view of our campus from Appalachian Dining Hall! Some of the most visible landmarks are the glowing tower of Bartle Library (it is usually green, but colors change for special occasions and honors!) and the lights of the city of Binghamton beyond.
We're lucky to have a campus so beautiful; we even have a 182-acre Nature Preserve with 12 trails perfect for taking a leisurely stroll or a hike! If you take a picture on campus, be sure to share it on your social media with #BingPride!

There's always something new and interesting going on at Binghamton University, and this blog is our way of sharing in that excitement with you. Stay up to date on the latest happenings, learn something new, have a laugh (or two), and join us as we celebrate this energetic and outstanding community! This is your story, Binghamton.
