10 Things to Expect at Bing Spring Fling 2017
Posted by Sofia Villela on April 27, 2017
Stay calm. That long-awaited event is almost here again: Spring Fling! Live music, all the foods and a day full of activities -- how can you go wrong? As a graduating senior, this Spring Fling marks my very last here on campus. Having attended all but one Fling -- silly me, going abroad -- I can’t think of a better way to celebrate before finals! Here are just some of the things to look forward to at this year’s Spring Fling festival.
Going 10 feet without seeing a familiar face is truly a challenge. From the Peace Quad to the Infinity Fountain, campus is guaranteed to be alive and boomin'!
Mac Miller on the mic

Fun fact alert: Mac Miller rose to fame with his mixtape “K.I.D.S.” that he dropped at the early age of 18 (Freshman shout-out!). Now he's back on the scene to deliver a mix of old and new beats, straight to us. Miller’s performance will be accompanied by CLOCKWORKDJ, who is sure to live up to his all-caps hype.
A killer Ty Dolla $ign set

Rapper Ty Dolla $ign will also perform a set at the concert. Ty not only raps, but has also been credited as a writer for several hit songs, including Rihanna's "FourFiveSeconds."
Some fierce competition
The festival is full of all sorts of fun, with carnival rides, bouncy inflatables and games like this contraption -- testing both endurance and strength... of friendships.
Giveaways that'll have you jumping for joy
Everyone has a chance to score free giveaways, with a prize for every hour of the festival, courtesy of Binghamton's Student Association. Wait, did you say free? Alright, you've convinced us.

Dive right in with Battle of the Band winners POOL. This student group will open for the musical guests, so get there on time to check out these Bearcat talents!
Grade-A selfie material
This guy's got the right idea. If selfies aren't your thing, you're in luck! A free photobooth will be provided all day long, so everyone get's a chance at the perfect photo op.
Food you won't want to share
You can expect all kinds of treats at the festival's food stands -- from funnel cakes to blooming onions. The first time I tried fried oreos was at my very first Spring Fling. It was then that I discovered my love for this indulgent combo was anything but a fling.
Students doing their thing
One of my favorite things about Spring Fling is seeing students in their element: dancing, hula hooping and even jumping rope. It definitely brings about some infectious positivity!
It'll be a great time
President Stenger wholeheartedly agrees! Click here to stay in the loop on all Spring Fling deets. I'll see you there!
