The Latest Headlines from Campus Rec

National Walking Day

Join us noon-1 p.m. Wednesday, April 2 as we take a 1.3-mile walk around the inner brain to celebrate National Walking Day. There is no designated location to begin — start walking anywhere on the brain. Healthy Campus Initiative volunteers will be located approximately every quarter mile handing out free pedometers and water. No registration is required for this event. National Walking Day is also the launch of the new University walking program, "Steps to B-Healthy." Every month, your steps can earn you individual prizes, chances at larger raffles or a catered "Meeting Morsels" event in your office. So grab a colleague, lace up your sneakers and get a jump on a healthier you and Binghamton University. Details regarding how to sign up for the walking program are available here. "Steps to B-Healthy" is sponsored by the Department of Campus Recreation, the Healthy Campus Initiative and Binghamton University Dining Services by Sodexo.

Sales Tax Update

Specifically, locker rentals and Sodexo food sold through point of sale operations at the front desk as well as equipment and merchandise sold at the Outdoor Pursuits office. Tax will be applicable beginning Friday, January 24. Sodexo items purchased on a campus meal plan are not subject to tax.
