Project Description
The North of Main (NoMa) Committee works hard to provide programs, activities, resources, and support to the members of the North of Main community. This includes residents in the underserved area near the Community Empowerment Center (CEC) located at 85 Walnut Street. In addition to their many other programs, every Saturday, Binghamton Food Rescue provides fresh and free produce for residents at the CEC. If you're interested in Urban Agriculture, Community Development, Sustainability, Community Service, Civic Engagement, or just looking to volunteer your spare time, join NoMa on Saturdays from 1:30-3pm. Additionally, during this time volunteers are invited to assist in the re-organization of the Community Empowerment Center. Recently obtained by NoMa, the building itself could use some decluttering, reorganization, and some love and care. These activities do not require much physical effort, just some time and willingness to take direction!
