To learn about the American Red Cross mission, values, programs and services.
To learn about the American Red Cross Blood Services which provides almost half of the nation’s blood supply.
To become familiar with how the Blood Services staff and volunteers support the healthcare field.
To attend staff meetings to learn about the American Red Cross programs and factors that influence decisions.
To be exposed to, interact with and communicate with diverse populations and provide appropriate service to them.
To interact in a positive, proactive and customer-focused manner with both internal and external customers, demonstrating care and compassion at all times.
To help develop and organize new blood drive opportunities with business, churches, schools and other sponsors to achieve established blood collection goals.
To help develop and implement donor recruitment plans to recruit blood donors from a variety of networks.
To learn about group dynamics, customer maintenance techniques, negotiation skills and the ability to effectively develop and implement programs.
To help gather and organize pertinent data for reports and meetings.
To help develop and implement media outreach plans and activities, including social media.
