Project Description
Broome County Head Start is an organization that provides low-income families with the knowledge and service they need to build a better life for their children. Head Start focuses on the early development children, including the cognitive abilities of young children. The programs and skills that Head Start promotes include education, problem-solving skills, social skills, and training in hygiene, health, and nutrition. Head Start is seeking volunteer interpreters to translate documents that children use in the classroom and help translate during 6-8 meetings with parents. Head Start is willing to work with the volunteer's schedule and is flexible with the tasks that the volunteer will be performing. Head Start has a specific need for a Spanish-speaking interpreter and a Kurdish-speaking interpreter.
