Project Description
- Up to 120 hours on site - Proof of a negative TB test that is less than one year old - Completion of one enrichment project Interns are rotated throughout all areas of the zoo and will gain experience working with a variety of species. Students spend the majority of their day working alongside the keepers to complete daily husbandry tasks such as cleaning, diet prep, and enriching the animals. They will also have the opportunity to observe operant conditioning sessions and observe on vet round days.

Other Requirements

Interns will need to pay for their own zoo intern shirts and other materials. The cost will be no more than $20.00. During the open season interns are required to wear khaki or earth toned pants/shorts/capri pants. Shorts may be no shorter than mid thigh while sitting. During the off season interns may wear jeans that are without holes/rips/tears. Comfortable and sturdy closed toe shoes/boots are also required while interning at the zoo.
