The SHARE Youth Mentoring Program is part of the SHARE Project, a federally funded initiative designed to support local school districts by providing services to help promote healthy students and safe schools. The Youth Mentoring Program, a collaboration between Broome-Tioga BOCES, BU and Cornell Cooperative Extension, consists of 11 mentoring teams in local middle schools. Each team consists of 2-3 adults working with up to 12 youth. Team Youth Mentoring focuses on empowering youths to reach their full potential with the support of caring, positive adults. Activities provide healthy role modeling and supportive, positive relationships while enhancing social skills. Team activities will be held monthly from September 2011-August 2013.
