The Friends of the Broome County Public Library is a volunteer group that supports the library. Volunteers maintain the reading garden and run the gift shop, as well as used book sales that raise money to pay for programming at the library. The programs range from children's reading groups to free introductory yoga classes. The Friends also pay for professional training classes attended by the librarians and for incidental purchase such as new furniture, computers, and databases.
