Help Students Make Connections in Our Nation's Capital
The Washington, DC Employer Site Visit program provides students an opportunity to expand their networks, explore employers and gain insights about transitioning to the workplace, all in a unique and historical city.
Over the course of three days, select Binghamton University students visit a variety of DC Metro employers from different industries. Each Employer Site Visit typically includes an employer presentation, tour of facility, Q&A and networking opportunities.

Why DC Metro Area?
Stemming from the success of the New York City Employer Site Visits, the Fleishman Center in April 2017 expanded a similar program in the DC Metro area.
- Large alumni population working and living in the DC Metro area, which will add to networking opportunities
- The DC Metro area has the 10th strongest city economy in America (Business Insider, 2015)
- Outpaced national job growth rate (The Washington Post, 2015)
- Active and growing DC Alumni Chapter
Your Support at Work
The Fleishman Center is excited to offer students the opportunity to attend employer visits in the DC area. By supporting this initiative, you will give students of all socio-economic backgrounds the opportunity to gain first-hand experience networking with employers and alumni in the nation’s capital.
Your support would offset many costs, including:
- Bus between Binghamton and Washington, DC
- Housing and meals for students
- Alumni Networking Event
- Student transportation to and from the visits
Student Success Stories
This was ONE OF THE BEST OPPORTUNITIES I HAVE HAD HERE AT BINGHAMTON. I was able to meet with past students and realize that my future has far more possibilities than I could have ever imagined.
I really enjoyed the visits! Spending time in a different city such as DC was great and HELPED ME TO GET A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT IS BEYOND NEW YORK CITY; not just for work but also for getting a glimpse at a different lifestyle, which I feel is equally important to see before relocating anywhere.
The Washington, DC Employer Visits was a great experience. I was able to MEET THE PEOPLE WHO WORK IN THE FIELDS I AM INTERESTED IN AND LEARN FROM THEIR FIRST-HAND EXPERIENCE . It gave me an opportunity to meet some wonderful alumni and visit some great firms that I would not have otherwise been able to.
