Our laboratory is dedicated to synthesizing and manipulating functional nanocrystals with size-, shape- and crystallographic facet control using a high-temperature organic solvent system. We are also investigating the correlation between the surface structure (atomic arrangement) of nanocrystals and their catalytic, electrocatalytic behaviors, as well as other relevant physical and chemical phenomena. Our research focuses on new synthesis method, advanced processing technology, nanocrystal formation mechanism, the superstructure of nanocrystal assembly, and novel applications in sustainable energy.
Interested materials include binary metallic nano-polyhedra; organic-inorganic perovskites, low-dimensional oxides, and other advanced materials.
Currently, interested research topics include pressure-induced phase transition and superstructural study of nanocrystals; electrocatalytic study on surface structure-controlled metal/alloy nanocrystals and nanoframes; ceria facet-dependent oxidative coupling of methane towards C2 products; study and processing of high-performance supercapacitor materials, and pressure-dependent organic-inorganic metal halide perovskite structure.
