Cinema majors take six core courses and five electives. Core courses give students experience in the analysis of film and video, as well as in the creation of personal works in both. Elective courses reflect the individual student’s interests.
Cinema minors take three core courses and three electives. A minor in cinema is for students who want to combine a study of history, art, writing or any other field with a love of cinema.
By its very nature, cinema is a cross-disciplinary endeavor and the department encourages exploration of the theories and techniques of other art disciplines, such as music, theater, painting and literature.
