Academics and Programs
The Center for Korean Studies (CKS) supports a Korean Studies program at the undergraduate and graduate level through the Departments of Art History, Asian and Asian American Studies, Economics, History, Political Science, and Sociology.
The Korean Studies program, offered through the Department of Asian and Asian American Studies, provides students with a solid foundation in Korean language skills and knowledge of Korea's history, economics, literature, society, politics, culture and religions. The requirements for the Korean Studies major and the Korean Studies minor are available on the Department of Asian and Asian American Studies website.
The Center for Korean Studies also sponsors lectures, exhibits, film series, teacher workshops and cultural performances throughout the year. These events are designed to encourage economic, political and cultural understanding of Korea among members of the Binghamton University community and the public.
