If you could choose one word or phrase to describe how you work, what would that word be and why?

At all hours

How do you keep track of all of your work? Do you use any apps? Gadgets? Other solutions?

My colleague introduced me to OneNote and I am trying to use that so everything I need is in one place. It is better than the stacks of notepads I have been carrying around.

Are you an Apple person or a PC person? Both? Why?

Apple - easier and more reliable when I started. Now I'm addicted to the eco-system: iPad mini, iPhone, Macbook.

Describe your workspace, either at home, work, or both. What is it like?

Disheveled and sprawling

How do you recharge yourself when you’ve been doing a lot of work?

Are you a night owl or an early riser?

Night owl. I will be wide awake well into the new day.

What everyday thing are you better at than anyone else? Is there something in everyday life that you find yourself being the go-to person for?

(1) Corralling people for a social outing (2) Killing adverbs

What are you currently reading?

I just finished my first novel in years. It was called "Everyone Loves You Back" by a woman (Louie Cronin), who I worked with at the public radio station in Boston. It's about a love triangle among the workers of a public radio station in Boston. Sadly, none of the protagonists was based on me.

What is the best advice you’ve ever received about learning and teaching?

Teach the big picture, students can always Google the details.
