
Background
Lesley Lopez is a mental health counselor who grew up in Central Islip, NY. She spent her undergraduate years at Dartmouth College, double majoring in Psychology and Women’s and Gender Studies with a concentration in LGBT studies. It was during this time that she decided that the field of psychology was what she wanted to pursue a career in. She completed her MS in mental health counseling at SUNY Old Westbury, where she was able to gain clinical experience in an LGBTQ+ community setting. Following graduation, Lesley worked in a group private practice setting as well as in a vocational rehabilitation setting, assisting people with a wide range of disabilities find a path towards employment. Her clinical and professional interests include multicultural issues, interpersonal relationships, trauma, and working with the LGBTQ+ population. When she’s not working, she loves playing tennis and racquetball, watching Netflix, playing video games, and spending time with her friends, family and pup.
