Is the Campus Climate Survey confidential?
Yes. If you choose to participate in the Campus Climate Survey please note that your responses will be anonymous and will not have any impact on your relationship with Binghamton University. Confidentiality is vital to the success of the Campus Climate Survey, particularly because sensitive and personal questions are asked.
Participation in the survey is completely voluntary. Also, participants do not have to answer any question except the first positioning question (student, graduate student, faculty, staff), and can skip any questions that make them uncomfortable. No personal data (e.g. name, social security number, campus identification number, etc...) will be associated with anyone's survey responses.
Are there incentives for completing the survey?
Yes. For students, through randomized drawings: one (1) student will receive an iPad, two (2) students will receive $250 Campus Barnes & Noble Gift Cards, and five (5) students will receive $100 Binghamton BUC$, and two (2) student organizations will receive a grant one (1) $200, one (1) $100.
For faculty and staff, through randomized drawings: one (1) faculty or staff member will receive an iPad, one (1) faculty or staff member will receive (2) 2014-2015 season tickets to Binghamton University Bearcats Men's & Women's Basketball, and one (1) faculty or staff member will receive 30/30 (30 ins, 30 outs) parking garage or paid lot access cards.
Incentive awards are considered taxable income. Accepting an incentive is optional.
If I choose to participate, when will the survey take place and how can I access it?
The survey is slated to launch in March of 2014. When the survey is opened to the campus community, notifications will be sent to individuals via email or campus mail. A link will be made available at that time to allow participants to anonymously take the survey online. If you do not have access to a computer you can contact out office at 777-4775.
