About Pathways

Pathways to Inclusive Leadership (Pathways) is a program designed to assist students in their leadership development through a comprehensive and inclusive approach focused on diversity, career readiness and civic engagement. 

Learning Outcomes:

  • Participants will be able to reconstruct their view of leadership to include diversity, career readiness, and community engagement.
  • Participants will increase their cultural competency and awareness while continuing their intellectual growth.
  • Participants will be able to articulate their career goals and connect their skills and interests to their goals.
  • Participants will be able to identify best practices to strengthen civic and community engagement practice and outcomes.

The Pathways program will allow students to build leadership skills through participation in various specialized workshops, trainings and activities in five categories:

  1. Foundations of Leadership
  2. Leadership in a Diverse World
  3. Leadership in Your Career
  4. Leadership in Civic Engagement
  5. Foundations of Success

All participants will be required to complete one core workshop and one elective workshop/activity from each category throughout the spring semester. During completion of the program, students will learn how to apply their leadership skills to their college career and create a final digital portfolio via LinkedIn.

  • Orientation Event: TBD, during the evening of the week of Feb. 20-23, 2024
  • Foundational Core Workshop: TBD, weekend of Feb. 24-25, 2024
  • Civic Engagement Core Workshop: Saturday, Mar. 16, 2024
  • Diversity Core Workshop: Saturday, Mar. 23, 2024
  • Transformational Leadership Core Workshop: Sunday, Apr. 7, 2024
  • Leadership in Your Career: Sunday, Apr. 14, 2024

Enrollment 

The Pathways program will run during the spring 2024 semester, and the applications will open on Jan. 24, 2024. Interested students can apply by Feb. 19, 2024, via UConnect

In order to gain access to the Pathways Application, some applicants may need to first log into the Fleishman Center for Career and Professional Development Career Tools using their BU Login Credentials.
