Tenure and Promotion

Tenure and tenure-track positions

Decker School of Nursing (DSON) tenure-track faculty undergo a formal review at year three with promotion/tenure review at year six.

The policies and procedures for these reviews are outlined in the Binghamton University Handbook for Faculty and Professional Staff, section IV. Faculty Personnel Policies and Procedures. Additional information can be found on the University provost's website.

The Decker School of Nursing's Guidelines Renewal, Promotion and Tenure were developed in 2001 and incorporate the AACN (1999) document "Defining Scholarship in the Discipline of Nursing."

Clinical-track positions

Clinical rank and promotion guidelines also include guidelines regarding teaching, practice, scholarship and service.
