Tuesday, February 19, 8 p.m. in FA 258. A Readers' Series Event with Raena Shirali, winner of the BU Milt Kessler Poetry Book Award for her collection, Gilt. Shirali's honors include a Pushcart Prize, the Philip Roth Residency at Bucknell University's Stadler Center for Poetry, and poetry prizes from Boston Review, Gulf Coast, and Cosmonauts Avenue. She has performed at such venues as: the 92Y Unterberg Poetry Center in NYC, Boston Poetry Slam at the Cantab, Slam Free or Die, College of Charleston, & many more. Tuesday, March 5, 8 p.m. in FA 258. A Readers' Series Event with Molly Peacock. Peacock is is a BU alum and the author of 7 books of poetry, most recently The Analyst. Her prose works include the story collection Alphabetique, the biography Paper Garden: Mrs. Delany Begins Her Life's Work at 72,the guide How to Read a Poem & Start a Poetry Circle, and the memoir Paradise, Piece by Piece. She has read her poetry at the Library of Congress, the Unterberg Poetry Center of the 92nd Street Y (New York City), and Harbourfront Centre (Toronto), as well as at numerous colleges, universities, and libraries in Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom.This event is free and open to all.
