Thanks to the interdisciplinary nature of our comparative literature program, I have always been encouraged to explore coursework across different academic disciplines such as philosophy, art, translation, English and sociology. It's no wonder that the program attracts students from all over the world; the classroom distills the diversity of the graduate student body. Collaboration with classmates is encouraged.   • Why I chose Binghamton: "I chose Binghamton University after attending an event that was held by the current Dean of the Thomas J. Watson School of Engineering and Applied Science, Dean Hari and the current Systems Science and Industrial Engineering Department Chair, Dr. Mohammad Khasawneh. I really felt that this is the right place for me to continue my graduate studies, especially that the campus includes students from all over the world. It is so diverse - you will never feel like a stranger here! The program offered different research options, and this was very important for me and my husband because I wanted to focus on healthcare, but he wanted to focus on manufacturing, product design and 3D printing, so we were able to find one place that offered a wide range of academic options."

  • Why I chose Binghamton: "When I was looking for graduate programs, I was drawn to Binghamton based on its legacy of distinguished historians, particularly in the field of women's history. I have been well-supported by both fellow graduates and faculty in my development. Binghamton is a place where one can easily flourish. The City of Binghamton also has a lot to offer graduates interested in using their training to reach a wider community. I have personally become very active in a local museum that is only a twenty minute walk from my apartment."
