Negotiation Skills and Techniques Workshop

Negotiation is an essential skill for many professions. This practical, interactive workshop led by alumni who are experts in the field will improve students' ability to negotiate effectively by sharpening existing skills and deepening their knowledge of fundamental principles of negotiations. Through exercises, role playing and discussion, students will be introduced to preparing for and conducting negotiations to maximize the potential for making favorable agreements. After the workshop, join us for some informal networking time with the alumni attorneys.
At the workshop, students will:
Hear from a panel of alumni who are experts in their field.
Learn how to identify various negotiation styles.
Participate in a negotiation exercise – each participant has an opportunity to apply the concepts learned to a mock negotiation situation, and can also take advantage of a consultation with an alumni attorney mentor. The mentor will conduct a debriefing of the exercise and provide valuable feedback to the participant.
After the workshop:
Students will have the opportunity to ask the law alumi questions about law school, legal careers, internships, etc., and participate in one on one networking.
