Based on recent survey results, we have been working on creating a volunteer program for Binghamton University Retirees. As a retiree, you will be given the opportunity to have a meaningful involvement in the university community, allowing you to remain involved and connected. One can only imagine the impact of experienced and highly skilled retiree volunteers that continue to enhance the mission of excellence here at BU.
We will also be honoring retiree volunteers annually at a recognition event to demonstrate the importance of retirees volunteering their knowledge, education and experience.
We are planning on having projects campus-wide which would generally be limited to
3-4 hour periods. Parking accommodations will be provided.
More information will be forthcoming regarding how to become involved in volunteer opportunities.
As your Retiree Services Coordinator, I welcome any ideas or suggestions. Also, please fill out the following RETIREE VOLUNTEER FORM so we can build a more customized volunteer program.
Following is a list of some volunteer opportunities on campus:
- Events Center: volunteering at Basketball Games
- Physical Facilities: helping with the Memorial Garden
- Mentoring new faculty members
- Community-campus relations
Binghamton University will be a tobacco-free campus effective August 1, 2017.
